Manage Your To-Do List with AI

By Amandine Flament · 18 June 2026 · 5 min read

A fifty-line to-do list motivates no one — it crushes. AI can help you get it working again by breaking down, grouping, and trimming what today discourages you just to look at.

Break down tasks that are too big

"Redo the website" isn't a task, it's a project. AI is great at splitting a vague intention into concrete, doable steps. Each step should be one clear action under an hour.

Sample promptBreak the task "prepare the launch of my new offer" into concrete, ordered sub-tasks, each doable in under an hour. Flag the ones that depend on another being done first.

Group tasks of the same kind

Jumping from a call to a spreadsheet to an email drains focus. Ask the AI to group your tasks by type (calls, writing, admin) so you can batch them. You lose less time switching context.

Clean it out regularly

A living list gets pruned. Once a week, hand your list to the AI and ask what looks stale, redundant, or endlessly deferrable. A short list is one you'll still open on Friday.

📋 Keep it simple: keep the list in your usual tool and use AI now and then to restructure it, not as a permanent manager. The best tool is the one you actually open.
